Hyderabad: Burra Venkatesham on Thursday assumed charge as the Chairman of Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC). He succeeded M Mahendar Reddy, who superannuated on December 2 as he attained 62 years.
As per order issued by the State government, the new TGPSC Chairman will hold the office for a term of six years from the date on which he enters upon office or attains the age of 62 years, whichever is earlier.
Prior to taking charge, Venkatesham served as Special Chief Secretary to the Government (Education department). He had nearly four years of service. However, he submitted resignation, seeking voluntary retirement from all India services on Wednesday.
The government gave N Sridhar, Principal Secretary to Government (Scheduled Caste development department), full additional charge as the Principal Secretary to Government (Education department), until further orders.
