BVRIT hosts FAILATHON to foster innovation, culture of learning from failure
BVRIT, Narsapur, organised the fourth edition of FAILATHON, a 24-hour ideathon exclusively for first-year students, centred on the theme “Come, Let’s Fail & Learn”. The event aimed to instill resilience, innovation, and confidence by encouraging students to learn through failure and experimentation.

Medak: BV Raju Institute of Technology (BVRIT), Narsapur conducted the 4th Edition of FAILATHON, a 24-hour ideathon exclusively designed for first-year students.
It was jointly organised by the Department of Basic Sciences and Humanities (BSH) in association with Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and Vishnu Venture Labs Foundation (VVLF). Built around the theme “Come, Let’s Fail & Learn”, the event aimed to foster a culture of experimentation, innovation, resilience, and learning through failure.
The 24-hour ideathon helped students to move beyond conventional classroom learning and experience the innovation process in a practical manner. Participants were encouraged to observe real-world challenges, identify meaningful problems, understand user needs, and explore innovative possibilities to address them.
Addressing the students on Friday, Principal Dr Sanjay Dubey emphasised the importance of embracing challenges, experimenting with new ideas, learning from setbacks, and continuously improving. His words of encouragement inspired the students to approach failure not as a setback, but as an opportunity for learning and growth.
Head of the Department of BSH, Dr B Mrunalini Sasanka spoke about the vision of significance of FAILATHON and highlighted the importance of creating a learning environment where students feel encouraged to experiment, take risks, and learn from their mistakes.
She emphasised that the event was designed to help first-year students move beyond theoretical learning and develop the confidence to identify real-world problems, explore innovative ideas, and continuously improve their solutions through experimentation and feedback.
