Hyderabad: byteXL, a technology and AI skilling company focused on bridging the gap between engineering education and industry requirements, has announced the 2026 edition of its hackathon, HacXLerate, recording 4,000 participant registrations across over 800 teams from 40 colleges in 10 States.
Designed to move students beyond theoretical learning and conventional coding exercises, HacXLerate challenges participants to build functional technology solutions to real-world problems defined in collaboration with industry partners.
A key feature of this year’s edition is the involvement of industry partners in framing the problem statements. KPMG in India has collaborated on the Smart Campus Analytics: Predict, Optimise & Improve Student Success challenge, bringing an industry perspective to the application of data and AI in addressing student outcomes.
Other challenges include an AI Content Creator Marketplace and a Digital Risk Protection Platform, developed with Kampus.vc, and an AI-Powered Personal Health Copilot, developed with Altrix Labs. As part of the hackathon’s focus on connecting student innovation with career opportunities, Kampus.vc announced interest in offering internship and placement opportunities to the top-performing teams.
