Cabinet approves one DA to employees, Metro Phase II expansion with Rs 24,269 cr

The new Metro lines would be laid on the Nagole- Shamshabad, Raidurgam- Kokapet, MGBS to Chandrayangutta, Miyapur- Patancheru and LB Nagar – Hayathnagar routes. A Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been prepared and the same would be sent to the Centre for approval.

Hyderabad: The State Cabinet on Saturday approved the Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase II expansion covering 76.4 km at a cost of Rs.24,269 crore under Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode and payment of one DA to government employees that was due for long.

The new Metro lines would be laid on the Nagole- Shamshabad, Raidurgam- Kokapet, MGBS to Chandrayangutta, Miyapur- Patancheru and LB Nagar – Hayathnagar routes. A Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been prepared and the same would be sent to the Centre for approval.

The State Cabinet met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy here on Saturday also decided to complete the socio economic and caste survey of all castes before November 30.

Briefing media persons after the meeting, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said it was decided to lay 16,000 to 17,000 km road network, including new roads under Panchayat Raj and Roads and Buildings departments. To this effect, it was decided to take up these works in the erstwhile 10 districts under PPP mode as it would cost Rs.25,000 crore to Rs.28,000 crore. An engineers’ committee would be constituted to study the models adopted in other States and prepare a DPR, he said.

The Revenue Minister also said silt accumulation in different reservoirs was one of the key agendas. A pilot project would be taken up at Kadem project and based on the outcome of this exercise, similar exercise would be taken up in other major and minor reservoirs, he said.

The cabinet also approved handing over the Goshamahal police lands for Osmania General Hospital, commencement of Grama Sabhas for identification of beneficiaries under Indiramma Housing scheme, 211 acres for Tribal University at Mulugu and sanction of ITIs associated with Sports University for Madhira, Vikarabad and Huzurnagar.

BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said the questionnaire and modalities for conducting the socio economic caste survey were already prepared and approved by the cabinet. Soon after completion of the survey, the details would be placed in public domain, he said.

In reply to queries on “political bombs” for this Diwali, Srinivas Reddy said three days were still left for the festival.
