Mancherial: As per a call given by government whip Balka Suman, activists of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) began celebrations, following the government’s decision to invite tenders to construct Chennur Lift Irrigation Scheme soon, across Chennur Assembly segment on Monday. The jubilant members and leaders of the party performed Ksheerabhisekam to flex posters of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, busted crackers and distributed sweets among themselves in Kotapalli, Jaipur, Bheemaram mandal centres and Chennur, Kyathanpalli and Mandamarri municipalities. They thanked Rao for giving his nod to create the facility. They expressed happiness over the announcement.
Another gem in Chennur’s crown
The party cadres said that Chennur Assembly constituency added another gem to its crown owing to efforts made by Suman. They opined that the move was a slap on the face of Opposition parties that often criticize the government. They recalled that many legislators belonging to both TDP and the Congress failed to develop the segment even after representing it for quite a long time
Historical day
In the meantime, the Government Whip Balka Suman expressed gratitude to Chandrasekhar Rao and T Harish Rao for earmarking funds to construct Chennur Lift Irrigation Scheme in the annual budget of the State presented before Telangana legislative Assembly. He said that agriculture fields would be irrigated with the advent of the facility. Suman termed Monday as a memorable day in the 70-year long history of Chennur segment. He stated that his dream to irrigate every acre in Chennur Assembly constituency would become a reality soon. He added that the saga of development would be continued in future.
