Hyderabad: In yet another major investment announcement, Callaway Golf, the world’s leading golf brand, said it will set up a DigiTech Centre in Hyderabad.

The announcement was made during the meeting of company’s top management team with Industries and IT Minister KT Rama Rao at San Diego. Rama Rao is in the US with a State delegation.

Callaway Golf DigiTech Centre in Hyderabad will start with an initial employment of 300 software professionals. It will deal with data analytics and also IT backed support for its global operations. Rama Rao met with company EVP and CFO Brain Lynch and CIO Sai Koorapati.

Callaway Golf company is a premium golf equipment and active life’s company with a portfolio of global brands, including Callaway Golf, Odyssey, OGIO, TravisMathew and Jack Wolfskin. The company has annual revenues of $3.2 billion.

During the meeting, other collaboration opportunities like sport tourism and manufacturing in Telangana were also discussed. Callaway has zeroed in on Hyderabad after evaluating several cities across the globe, said a release.

Callaway is an interesting addition to the various IT and Tech Development Centres in Hyderabad. This investment opens up a new sector and many more prospective clients from sport and allied fields will look up at Hyderabad to set up their technology centres.

Industries Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, Chief Relations Officer Amarnath Reddy Aatmakuri, Digital Media Director Dileep Konatham also participated in the meeting.
