Singer-songwriter Camila Cabello has dropped the music video of her new single, ‘Don’t Go Yet’. The singer also posted a short clip on her Instagram account with a long note about what inspired the song.
‘Don’t Go Yet’ is her first single released after her album ‘Romance’ came out in 2019. The song is part of her upcoming music album ‘Familia’. The singer rides in a vintage car switching stations on the radio channel in the video, which then shows a toy car moving along a dirt road towards a lavish home. A glamorous-looking Camila rings the doorbell and heads into the lively party inside.
Sharing her thoughts about the new song on her Instagram page, she posted a note that read: #Don’t go yet is the first song from my next album, Familia. The album’s journey started with @scottharris123 and our makeshift studio in my bedroom in Miami about a year ago. We just had a mic, some MIDI keyboards and guitars! Then we brought it to LA where I met and worked with @mikesabath for the first time. That first day of working together, we wrote this song after listening to old Cuban songs and playing with my dog Tarzan. Then @rickyreed (who side-gigs as my therapist sometimes LOL) put his sauce alllll over it. These guys have become my true friends and we created a really loving and inspiring creative space(sic).”
The 24-year-old singer has been teasing her new song for quite a while now, posting short teasers online. The ‘Havana’ singer hoped that like her, everyone else will be inspired to make their own special memories while listening to the song.
“This whole album to me was inspired by two things: family and food. Moments where the food you cooked together feeds your soul and so does the laughter, conversation, and emotional intimacy. I hope you enjoy it and I hope it inspires many wine drunk kitchen dance parties for you and your familia (sic),” wrote Camila.
