Hyderabad: BRS leader RS Praveen Kumar urged the elected representatives to stand up for the rights of underprivileged communities, slamming the Congress government’s GO 29, which denies opportunities in the Open Competition (OC) category. He criticized the ruling Congress party’s MLAs, MLCs, and MPs for remaining silent on the issue, for not standing up for those who voted them to power.

In response to requests from job aspirants, Praveen Kumar called on lawmakers to fight for the rights of SCs, STs, BCs, Minorities, and Economically Weaker Sections, condemning the Congress government’s GO 29. He said the GO prevents aspirants from these categories from competing in the OC category which is unjust and discriminatory.

“Why are the elected leaders from the ruling party silent? What is the point of being in power if you cannot raise your voice for your people?” he questioned, urging leaders to act in the interests of the majority community.

He demanded for the recall of the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TGPSC) board, accusing it of favouring a single community over the majority. He also called for mass resignations of elected representatives, if they fail to secure future of job aspirants and put a unified fight if the issue is not resolved. “Let us fight for our children with dignity,” he said.

Praveen Kumar appreciated BRS working president KT Rama Rao for his support and commitment to pursuing legal action to secure justice for job aspirants. “These children are fighting for their rights in court, despite the debt burden, but KT Rama Rao promised to stand with them and fight for social justice,” he said.
