Candidate adds ‘googling’ as skill, gets called for interview

Finding a job especially in this pandemic-struck world has become a task for many youngsters. In the midst of a job-hunting spree, this tweet about a candidate being called for an interview for adding ‘googling’ as his skill is going viral from the minute it was up on the social media platform.

Got a CV today and the guy literally listed one of his skills as ‘googling’

The tweet which was posted by a Twitter user – Cat McGeeon – on July 23, has since received over 1.8 lakh likes and several reactions, some hilarious ones too!

“He might be googling now about interviews,” a user quipped. “Honestly, it is such an important skill to know how to do it right. I wish this seemingly obvious skill was more normalised. Googling = Self-teaching – which is what the real underlying skill there is,” another user wrote.

“You would be surprised how many people can’t properly Google. I am not talking about technical use of browsers and Google. I am talking about writing the proper keywords, excluding some or trying and testing different phrases,” wrote another Twitter user.

However, Cat McGeeon clarified in the later tweets that the overall CV was also great and thus the interview call.
