Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao warned Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy that he could not be intimidated with legal notices and that he would continue to expose the latter’s involvement in the AMRUT scam.

He stated that just like Ashok Chavan in the infamous Adarsh scam, Revanth Reddy was now entangled in the AMRUT scam and that there was no escape for him.

“Mr. Chief Minister, if you think sending a legal notice through your brother-in-law will stop me from speaking out against your illegal activities, you are mistaken,” he said.

In response to the legal notices served by Shodha Constructions, Rama Rao said the Chief Minister had awarded a Rs.1,137 crore tender under the AMRUT scheme to his brother-in-law’s company, Shodha Constructions, a small firm that reportedly made only Rs.2 crore in profits annually over the last two years.

The BRS working president said this violated Sections 7, 11, and 13 of the Prevention of Corruption Act. “While you hand over AMRUT funds to your brother-in-law’s firm, you continue to spew venom against the poor by demolishing their homes. Do you expect us to remain silent?” he asked.

Rama Rao also dismissed the Chief Minister’s political connections in Delhi, stating that even his BJP allies would find it difficult to shield him from the consequences.

“The judiciary in this country is strong and honest,” KTR asserted, reiterating that legal repercussions were inevitable for Revanth Reddy.
