Hyderabad: Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) Chairman Burra Venkatesham said it was not possible to provide jobs to everyone who applied for recruitment notifications.

Speaking at a press conference here on Monday, Venkatesham explained that only 0.01 per cent of applicants could ultimately be selected, while 99.99 per cent would not get jobs.

He cited the example of a recent notification for recruitment to 20 Assistant Scientist posts in the Pollution Control Board, which attracted 19,000 applications.

No matter how many applications were received, only 20 candidates would ultimately be recruited, he said, adding that it was natural for unsuccessful candidates to feel dissatisfied and, at times, engage in negative campaigns against the Commission.

Venkatesham warned that the Commission would take legal action if individuals spread misinformation for personal gain.

The TGPSC Chairman revealed that the Finance Department had approved recruitment to 3,800 posts. However, many of these vacancies were few in number, with some departments having only a single vacancy.

He said there were 25 departments with fewer than five vacancies and only 11 departments with more than 50 vacancies. Among the approved positions were 1,393 Forest Beat Officer posts.

He announced that all recruitment examinations would be conducted through the Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. In addition, a new provision for displaying candidates’ marks on computer screens immediately after the examination would be implemented.

TGPSC to release three recruitment notifications for over 270 vacancies

Hyderabad: The TGPSC is set to release three recruitment notifications for more than 270 vacancies on Tuesday on the occasion of State Formation Day.

TGPSC Chairman Burra Venkatesham announced that five to six more notifications would be issued in June, with more notifications to follow on a regular basis.

Stating that efforts were underway to fill Deputy Educational Officer posts soon, he said interviews might be conducted for Degree Lecturer vacancies in line with UGC regulations and government orders.
