Car explosion near Red Fort sparks panic in Old Delhi
A car explosion near Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi on Monday evening sparked panic and set nearby vehicles on fire. Police and fire officials rushed to the spot as seven fire engines battled the blaze. Investigation is underway.

New Delhi: A car explosion near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station on Monday evening created panic in the area. The blast also caused fire in three other vehicles, officials said.
According to the Delhi Fire Department, blast-like sounds were heard before they received information about the incident. Seven fire engines were immediately rushed to the spot to douse the flames.
In the initial investigation, Delhi Police said that a parked car had exploded, following which senior officers reached the site. The cause of the explosion is yet to be ascertained.
Neighbourhoods in Old Delhi near the Red Fort are among the most crowded areas in the national capital, leading to tense moments as residents and passersby rushed to safety.
Several reports and social media posts speculated a possible terror link, but there has been no official confirmation so far.
According to NDTV, the Delhi Police Special Cell has cordoned off the site and launched an investigation. A few ambulances were also rushed to the spot, and some people reportedly sustained injuries.
