Car rental fraud busted in Siddipet, six vehicles seized, one arrested
A five-member gang operating across multiple districts in Telangana has been busted by Siddipet police for fraudulently selling self-driving cars hired from unsuspecting owners. The gang had reportedly hired 17 cars from various districts including Rajanna-Sircilla and Karimnagar.

Siddipet: The district police nabbed a man belonging to a five-member gang that hired self-driving cars and fraudulently sold them to unsuspecting buyers.
The Siddipet II-town police have seized six cars from the gang. According to Inspector Upendar, the gang comprising Middela Mahesh, Burugupally Shekhar, Patnam Naresh, Danavath Matru and Danavath Santosh had hired 17 cars from Siddipet, Rajanna-Siricilla, Kamareddy and Karimnagar districts.
Similarly, an individual named Sameer, a resident of Siddipet had lent five cars to them. However, the gang failed to return the vehicles to him. Fed up with their evasiveness, Sameer lodged a complaint at the II-town police station. The police nabbed Patnam Naresh and seized six cars from him on Friday. The search is underway to apprehend the remaining accused.
