Hyderabad: The Tolichowki police on Wednesday arrested a caretaker who allegedly snatched away two mobile phones and other imitation jewellery from the house where he was engaged to work. The police recovered three mobile phones and four artificial bangles from him.

The arrested man is identified as Punna Kumara Swamy (45), a resident of Ranga Reddy district and native of Srikakulam in AP.

According to the police, the family of a septuagenarian, Asha Saxena (77), had engaged Kumara Swamy through Shyam Home Care Services to take care of her.

On May 31, when the husband of Asha was asleep, the suspect attacked the old woman and snatched away two mobile phones from her and some imitation jewelry and escaped, said ACP Golconda, Syed Fiaz.
