Hyderabad: A case has been registered against AIMIM legislator from Nampally, Jaffer Hussain Meraj, and a few other workers of his party for allegedly attacking and abusing Congress workers on Wednesday.

In a complaint made to the police, a Masood Ahmed of Masab Tank alleged that while they were disbursing a relief amount of Rs. 10,000 to flood affected families in Dhobhighat area along with government officials under Humayunnagar police station limits, the legislator along with his followers came and attacked them. The incident resulted in tension in the locality.


In the evening, a Congress delegation led by Feroz Khan, Congress leader approached the Humayunnagar police, who based on the complaint, registered a case against the Jaffer Hussain Meraj and a few others and took up investigation.
