Case filed against Ram Gopal Varma over alleged misuse of ex-IPS officer’s identity in web series

Hyderabad police registered a case against filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma after former IPS officer Anjana Sinha alleged her identity was misused in the web series Dhahanam. She said her name and profile were used without consent. Police are investigating.

Hyderabad: A case is registered against producer and director Ram Gopal Varma, at Raidurgam police station after former IPS officer Anjana Sinha made a complaint against him alleging her professional identity was misused in web series ‘Dhahanam’.

In her complaint to the police, she stated that the series portrayed her name and career profile without her consent, using them for commercial gain. She also said that she never met or interacted with the makers of the series, nor did she give any permission to use her details in the webseries.

Ram Gopal Varma is the producer while it is directed by Agasthya Manju. Following the complaint, the police registered a case and are investigating.
