Case filed over fake social media claims about actresses in Jubilee Hills voter list
Madhuranagar Police registered a case after a complaint alleged false social media posts claiming that film actresses appeared in Jubilee Hills voter rolls with altered details. Election officials warned against spreading misinformation that could affect the poll process.

Hyderabad: The Madhura Nagar Police have registered a case following a complaint that certain individuals have been spreading false information on social media, alleging that some film actresses were listed in the Jubilee Hills electoral rolls with modified addresses, photographs, and invalid EPIC numbers.
The complaint was lodged with the police by Syed Yahiya Kamal, Assistant Electoral Registration Officer, 61–Jubilee Hills Assembly Constituency, and Assistant Municipal Commissioner, Yousufguda Circle–19, GHMC.
Acting on the complaint, a case has been registered under Cr. No. 686/2025 U/s 336(4), 353(1)(C) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Madhura Nagar Police Station. The investigation is being carried out by police officials.The investigation is currently underway.
Meanwhile, Election officials have urged the public not to believe or circulate unverified information regarding electoral rolls and warned that strict action will be taken against those involved in spreading false or misleading content that may affect the election process.
