Hyderabad: The fund-starved Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) reported a 90 per cent revenue boost through building permissions and occupancy certificates, earning Rs. 759.98 crore between April and August this financial year (2025–26), compared to Rs. 399.61 crore during the same period last year.
According to a GHMC release, the revenue increase was driven by the issuance of 4,389 building permissions and 1,008 occupancy certificates during the five-month period.
Officials attributed the growth to favourable policies, rising foreign direct investment, higher office space occupancy and increased residential sales, which boosted the city’s real estate sector.
The GHMC said that infrastructure development proposed under the H-CITI project, including construction of multi-level flyovers, grade separators, underpasses, junction improvements and road-widening works, has created positive sentiment in the industry.
