Hyderabad: A casting artist has been booked by Banjara Hills police following allegations of sexual harassment, intimidation and nonpayment of remuneration made by a budding film actress.
According to the complaint, the suspect, identified as Prasad, allegedly approached the actress with an offer to cast her in a supporting role in a film, the shooting of which was completed in December 2025.
The actress alleged that despite completing the project, Prasad failed to clear her pending remuneration of Rs 90,000 and travel expenses of Rs 38,000, repeatedly delaying the payment.
In her complaint, the actress stated that Prasad asked her to meet him near the office of a prominent film producer in Banjara Hills in February this year. When she met him seeking her dues, he allegedly threatened her instead of making the payment. She further alleged that he forcibly took her in a car and behaved inappropriately, promising more film opportunities if she complied with his demands.
The actress said she left the spot out of fear and later informed her mother about the incident. When her mother confronted Prasad over the phone, he allegedly abused and threatened her as well.
Based on the complaint, Banjara Hills police registered a case and are investigating.
