Hyderabad: When 25-year-old Abhiraj stepped out of his house in Banjara Hills Rd No. 4, little did he know that his indoor cat would go missing.
The city-based businessman is devastated and hopes to find two-year-old Zoya as soon as possible. “She usually sits outside the house wearing a leash. Even my parents weren’t home and my brother didn’t know how she escaped. When I returned home, I checked the CCTV cameras and saw her leave around 4.30 pm. We have been searching for her everywhere since last evening and have shared flyers on social media announcing a reward of Rs 20,000 if someone finds her,” says Abhiraj.
Zoya is a white coloured cat with orange and black patches. If you find her Abhiraj can be contacted on these numbers: 9014003870/ 8897255222/9136510836/8978089494
While it’s not common to announce a huge reward for a missing cat, Abhiraj says, “Zoya is a family member. She’s been with us for two years — ever since we rescued her. I have four other cats at home and we all miss her and just want her back.”
A BBA graduate, Abhiraj also tried filing a complaint at the Banjara Hills Police Station. “I contacted the PS through a friend of mine and we were told that a complaint cannot be filed since Zoya is not a registered cat, meaning she is not a breed cat. When you buy a cat from a kennel, they give you papers but since Zoya is a street cat, they didn’t file a missing report,” he added.
