Caught chatting on WhatsApp with girl, teen ends life out of fear in Telangana’s Kothagudem

Kothagudem: A Class IX student, who was reportedly warned by a Class VII girl’s parents for chatting with her on WhatsApp, ended his life by consuming insecticide in Chunchupalli mandal in the district.

It was said that the boy, Bhukya Manoj (15) from Chunchupalli thanda in the mandal and studying at a local Government High School, had become quite close with the girl studying in the same school. They both used to chat on popular messaging platform WhatsApp regularly when at home.

However, the girl’s family members who noticed this, are said to have warned the boy against chatting with the girl. Following this, the boy, out of fear, allegedly consumed insecticide on Saturday night. His family members rushed him to a hospital in Khammam. However, he died on Sunday while undergoing treatment.

The boy’s father Bhukya Ramesh lodged a complaint with Chunchupalli police on Monday holding the girl’s parents responsible for his son’s death. Local SI Ravi Kumar booked a case and launched a probe into the incident.
