CBI begins probe into murder of advocate couple in Peddapalli

Peddapalli: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has begun an inquiry into the murder of advocate couple Gattu Vamana Rao and his wife Nagamani.
On Thursday, a CBI team visited Vamana Rao’s house in Gunjapadu of Manthani mandal before proceeding to the murder spot near Kalvacherla in Ramagiri mandal.
Officials also interacted with Vamana Rao’s father, Kishan Rao, and younger brother, Chandrashekhar, at the Manthani court to gather further details about the case.
In a sensational incident, the advocate couple was hacked to death at Kalvacherla on February 17, 2021. Seven accused in the case were later released on bail. Following this, Kishan Rao moved the Supreme Court seeking a CBI probe. The apex court subsequently ordered the investigation, which was also accepted by the State government.
As part of the inquiry, the CBI team has now begun its investigation in the district.
