CBI books case against ex sub-postmaster for Rs 1.62 cr fraud

Hyderabad: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has booked a case against then Nalgonda division Chintapalli post office sub-postmaster N Naresh Kumar following allegations that he received the reports in respect of Social Security Pension Accounts from Branch Post Offices of Gadia Gowraram, Injamur, Kurmapalli, Nasarlapalli, Madanapur, Takkalapalli and Kurmed.
It was further alleged that the accused exaggerated the said reports by changing the amounts in the reports in his computer ID and shown as if the above said branch post offices had generated the reports and thus misappropriated an amount of Rs.1.62 crore, according to a press release.
The CBI officials conducted searches on the premises of the accused in Devarkonda in Nalgonda.
