It was alleged that the accountant member had acquired assets to the tune of Rs 3.51 crore which were disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Hyderabad: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has carried out searches at the office and residential premises of Dasi Sadhu Sunder Singh, an accountant member (IRS officer), Income Tax Appellate Tribunal, Visakhapatnam, following allegations of possessing disproportionate assets.
The searches conducted in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam led to recovery of approximately Rs 4.42 lakh and certain incriminating documents. A sum of Rs 3.70 lakh cash was also recovered during searches from another person, a press release issued by the CBI said.
It was alleged that the accountant member had acquired assets to the tune of Rs 3.51 crore which were disproportionate to his known sources of income. It was further alleged that during the period between April 1, 2008 and October 31, 2018, the officer allegedly acquired immovable and movable assets, amounting to Rs.4.71 crore in his name and in the names of his family members.
