Nagpur: Celebrations erupted at the Samvidhan square in Nagpur on Saturday after Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced his resignation.

Hundereds of youths danced, chanted victory slogans and distributed sweets as songs played on loudspeakers.

The Samvidhan square had become a hub of demonstrations in support of the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi demanding Pradhan’s resignation over the NEET paper leak issue.

Hundreds of youths had been detained by Nagpur Police in the last few days.

Political parties including the Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), NCP (SP), Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi, NSUI and others also staged demonstrations at the site.
