Celebs commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas on social media
The bravehearts of the Indian Army, aided by the Indian Air Force, had given a crushing defeat to Pakistan in Kargil, on this day, 22 years ago.
Kargil Vijay Diwas, celebrated on July 26 annually, marks a commemoration of the sacrifices made by the Indian soldiers during the Kargil War with Pakistan in the year 1999. The bravehearts of the Indian Army, aided by the Indian Air Force, had given a crushing defeat to Pakistan in Kargil, on this day, 22 years ago.
The 60-day-long Kargil War took place from May 3 to July 26, 1999, after some Pakistani troops were detected on top of the Kargil ridges.
Marking this day, several celebrities also took to their social media accounts to look back at the historic war and to commemorate the brave souls.
Akshay Kumar being one of the first ones to post for the bravehearts, says ‘Aap hain toh hum hain’ in his tweet. “Remembering our bravehearts who fought valiantly and sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. My salute to our heroes, aap hain toh hum hain(sic),” he tweets.
