Cement ramp built over cycling track at Hitex pose risk to cyclists

Hyderabad: To promote cycling, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is taking up cycling tracks in different parts of the city. But, a cement ramp that has been built over one such track at Hitex road is defeating the purpose.

“The civic body has been laying cycling tracks for the convenience of riders. But, it is unfortunate that they are not being maintained well. The ramp that lands over the track is an obstruction for cyclists on this road stretch and is really risky,” says the cyclist Ravi Sambari expecting strict action against violators. The ramp is said to be forcing many to use the regular road for cycling.
