Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai on Thursday said the Central government was making continuous efforts to build consensus to amicably resolve bilateral issues between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Replying to BJP MP GVL Naraimha Rao in Rajya Sabha, he said said 26 meetings have been conducted so far in this regard.
He said during a meeting held on January 1, 2022, it was agreed by representatives of both the State governments to constitute a Dispute Resolution Sub-Committee with representatives from both the State governments and Ministry of Home Affairs to discuss all bilateral issues in detail and suggest measures to resolve such issues expeditiously.
The first meeting of the Sub-Committee was held on February 17 to discuss five bilateral issues. None of the bilateral issues have been dropped from the agenda, he added.
