Mancherial: District Medical and Health Officer Dr GC Subbarayudu inaugurated a central medicine store meant for keeping drugs and surgical items available to both Mancherial and Kumram Bheem Asifabad districts here on Tuesday.
Subbarayudu said that the store would cover 21 primary health centres, 121 sub centres and district headquarters hospital, benefitting eight lakh patients of Mancherial district and 22 primary health centres, 108 sub-centres and a district headquarters belonging to Kumram Bheem Asifabad, catering to needs of six lakh patients. The facility will play a vital role in delivering drugs in time and to bring medicine to door steps of the public, he added.
The DMHO further said that a total of 1,800 varieties of drugs would be available at the store. Besides, the centre is equipped with a vehicle, three packers and computer operators. It is one of the 12 centres opened across Telangana State, he explained.
Narasimha Rao, Executive Engineer and Mobin, junior engineer of TS Medical Services and Infrastructure Development Corporation, R Srinivas, pharmacist and B Venkateshwar, DEMO and Eshwaraiah, superintendent were present.
