Medak was among the worst-affected districts during the September and October rains that battered Telangana. The team visited Makthabhupathipur, Timmanagar and several other villages in Medak mandal to assess the extent of damage to paddy fields, roads and other public assets.
District Collector Rahul Raj accompanied the team and explained how the rains had severely impacted farmers and local infrastructure. The officials also organised a photo exhibition depicting the intensity and aftermath of the rainfall.
The committee interacted with farmers to understand the extent of their losses and held discussions with district officials to gather data on crop damage, road destruction and other related losses.
