Centre invites applications for scholarships for Beedi, Mine, Cine Workers’ children
The Labour Welfare Organisation has invited applications for educational scholarships for children of Beedi workers, mine workers and cine workers in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Eligible students from Class I to professional degree courses can apply online through the National Scholarship Portal.

Hyderabad: The Office of the Welfare Commissioner, Labour Welfare Organisation, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India, has invited online applications for educational financial assistance under various scholarship schemes for the academic year 2026–27.
The scholarships are available for children of Beedi Workers, Limestone and Dolomite Mine Workers, Iron Ore, Manganese Ore and Chrome Ore Mine Workers, Mica Mine Workers, and Cine Workers studying in Government and Government-recognised schools and colleges in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Students studying from Class I to Class X (Pre-Matric) and from Class XI to Professional Degree courses (Post-Matric) are eligible to apply through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
The last date for submission of online applications for Pre-Matric (Class I to X): August 31, 2026; for Post-Matric (Class XI to Professional Degree), October 31, 2026. Applicants can also submit their applications through the National Scholarship Portal.

The Welfare Commissioner has urged all eligible students and parents to make use of the opportunity and submit their applications well before the prescribed deadlines.
