Hyderabad: Finance Minister T Harish Rao said the BJP government at the Centre, impressed by the TRS government’s Mission Bhagiratha, was now emulating the programme and assuring drinking water supply to every household in the country.

“In election campaigns in Bihar and Bengal, political leaders are citing the success of Mission Bhagiratha programme and were assuring voters of replicating the programme in the respective States,” he said.

In the past, during Assembly sessions, there used to be demonstrations with empty pots, lanterns and others. But after TRS government came to power, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has ensured supply of safe drinking water across the State, he said while addressing employees at a programme here on Tuesday.

TRS candidate for the Mahabubnagar-Ranga Reddy- Hyderabad Graduates Constituency MLC elections S Vani Devi has vast experience in the field of education, he said and appealed to the graduates to cast their vote in her favour. Education Minister P Sabitha Reddy and AVN Education society chairman AVN Reddy participated in the programme.

During the past 70 years, Telangana was plagued with several issues and the past governments had failed to address them. But Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao fixed all the problems, including drinking water supply, power supply in six years and the State had emerged as a role model to others, the Finance Minister said.
