Huzurabad (Karimnagar): Finance Minister T Harish Rao on Friday said the BJP government at the Centre was considering waiver of loans amounting to Rs 10 lakh crore availed by big industrialists.
“While the TRS government has been waiving loans availed by farmers and weavers, the Central government is planning to waive loans of corporate companies and impose a burden on the poor by increasing prices of diesel, petrol, and cooking gas. Moreover, the BJP has not been able to digest the welfare schemes being implemented in Telangana State,” Harish Rao said, speaking to the media after TRS candidate Gellu Srinivas Yadav filed his nomination papers for the Huzurabad Assembly by-election.
Stating that distribution of properties among the poor was a concept that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had conceived, the BJP has adopted a policy to benefit corporate companies at the cost of the poor, he said.
Huzurabad was agriculture based area since 60 to 70 people were leading life by depending on agriculture, he said and informed that farmers were with TRS since State government was providing Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, 24 hours free electricity, Kaleshwaram project water through SRSP canals, renovated tanks under Mission Kakatiya programme, constructed check dams and Rythu Vedhikas.
On what grounds BJP would seek votes from the public. Do people exercise their votes to BJP for killing farmers by hitting cars in Uttar Pradesh or comparing farmers with Khalistan terrorists by a Central Minister, He questioned, adding that the Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had instructed the police to lathi-charge on farmers.
Informing that the Union Government brought new electricity policy, he said that Centre was contemplating to fix meters to agricultural motors. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy has already started fixing meters. However, Chandrashekhar Rao made it clear that there was no question of fixing meters, he added.
The Minister expressed confidence that TRS candidate is going to win the by-poll with a thumping majority since Huzurabad was a stronghold for TRS.
Srinivas Yadav promised to develop Huzurabad as a model constituency since he has blessings of the Chief Minister. The Telangana government was implementing various welfare schemes for the benefit of all sections of the society.
Terming the by-poll as a competition between BJP leader Eatala Rajender’s arrogance and poor people’s self-respect, he made it clear that nobody would stop his victory.
