Hyderabad: MLC K Kavitha said the BJP-led union government was dishing out stepmotherly treatment towards Telangana repeatedly, while the party’s Telangana leaders were repeatedly trying to blame the State government for the repercussions. She said despite the Centre and the Food Corporation of India (FCI) are aware of the fact that Telangana produces a large percentage of parboiled rice during Yasangi season due to adverse climatic conditions, they are seeking to purchase only raw rice.

In a series of tweets, Kavitha said the Centre’s decision showcases its double-standards as the BJP Telangana leaders including its president Bandi Sanjay were demanding that the State government purchase entire paddy crop and were also justifying the Centre’s decision not to purchase parboiled rice. “By refusing to purchase the paddy crop, the Centre is being vengeful against Telangana. The BJP State president lacks any knowledge in this regard, but is repeatedly blaming the TRS government,” she said.

She advised the BJP leaders to speak to any farmer in the State and seek complete information, rather than causing unnecessary damage to farmers with their half-baked knowledge.
