Hyderabad: Two inter-State chain snatchers from Rajasthan involved in several cases were detained under the Preventive Detention Act by the Rachakonda Police.
Rachakonda Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat issued the detention orders here on Tuesday. According to officials, Gulab Singh and Shiv Singh targeted women walking alone in secluded residential colonies and snatched their gold ornaments, mostly in LB Nagar. They used a stolen bike from Jawahar Nagar to commit offences.
The Jawahar Nagar police arrested them in April and they are currently remanded in judicial custody at the Central Prison in Cherlapally, where the order was executed.
