Medak: Two persons on a bike snatched a six tola gold mangalsutra of an elderly woman at Yellamma Colony in Toopran town on Thursday morning.
The victim Rangamma (68) was sweeping the premises of her house, when the bike-borne men wearing helmets reached there. When they first tried to snatch the chain, she confronted them. They then held her mouth shut and snatched the chain before speeding away.
Upon hearing Rangamma crying, the neighbours came out of their house and made a futile attempt to catch them. Inspector Rangakrishna and his team visited the spot.
