Hyderabad: Former cricketer and the current Telangana Badminton Association vice president V Chamundeswaranath flew to Bengaluru to greet the new head of the National Cricket Academy from Hyderabad VVS Laxman, on Friday.
Chamundeswanath said it is a great honour for the Telugu States to have the stylish Hyderabad cricketer as the head of the NCA and wished him the best in the new role. “I have known Laxman for a long time and I was his coach when he played for the Duleep Trophy representing South Zone. It is great news for all of us that he will be heading the NCA,” he added.
Meanwhile, Laxman, who took charge of NCA recently, said, “I have known him for the past 25 years. I am amazed by his knack spotting talent. When I first played the Duleep Trophy representing South Zone, he was our coach. He is not only encouraging cricketers but everyone who is doing well and winning laurels for the country.”
