HYDERABAD: In an indirect blow to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy‘s claims on investments and MoUs he signed at the World Economic Forum in Davos, his political guru and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has dismissed the hype over signing of MoUs and getting investments. He also ridiculed, again indirectly, what Revanth Reddy did this time, stating that there was no need to take companies from India to Davos and sign MoUs with them there.

Interacting with the media on his return from Davos, Naidu said there was a myth about Davos.

“When we return, people ask how many MoUs were signed, how much money came etc. That is a myth. There is no need to sign MoUs with companies from here in Davos, when they can be signed here. Davos is a place for networking. People from across the world come there. For four days, country heads, ministers, governments and all corporates participate in the summit,” he said.

Dismissing the criticism about Andhra Pradesh failing to attract investments at the summit, he said it was not just about inking agreements, but all about networking with influential people and gaining insights into the direction the world was moving.

He was also critical of his counterpart Revanth Reddy’s comments that Telangana has Hyderabad and Andhra Pradesh lacks it.

The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister stressed that Hyderabad was for the Telugu community. “I created it for the community, not for some people. If people are thinking like that, I don’t know. Everybody is thinking it is for society,” Naidu stated.
