Medak: The charred remains of a man was found in a Honda City car on the outskirts of Mangalparthy village of Veldurthy Mandal in Medak district on Tuesday. Since the car belongs to Dharmakar Srinivas (45), a businessman and resident of Piltmabase in Medak town, police suspect it was his body.

Srinivas left home on Monday afternoon stating that he was going on a Tirupathi with his friends. Since Monday night, Srinivas’ mobile phone was switched off and he was not traceable. His wife Hymavathi, however, could not identify the body since it was almost reduced into ashes.

Srinivas, who was associated with RSS and VHP, is reported to have escaped several attempts on his life in the past. He was also an accused in a murder case in the past, and was released from jail a few years ago. He was the owner of Cinemax theatre in Medak town.

On Tuesday morning, locals saw a car going up in flames on the outskirts of Mangalparthy, and alerted the police. Toopran DSP Kiran and his team rushed to the spot. The remains of the body were sent to the lab for DNA test.

Meanwhile, his relatives said that Srinivas had some disputes with his business partners. A case has been registered and investigations are on.
