Jagtial: Welfare Minister Koppula Eashwar called upon the people to chase away from the villages the BJP leaders, who were criticising the State government and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao without any valid reason.
Instead of speaking about welfare schemes and developmental activities, BJP leaders were deliberately criticising the government as well as the Chief Minister without any valid reason. So, people should chase away the BJP leaders when the latter visit their villages, Minister made these comments while inaugurating double bedroom houses at Atmakur of Metpalli mandal on Saturday.
Referring to the saffron party’s allegations of corruption in irrigation projects as well as family rule in the State, The Minister said that the BJP, which was in power at the Centre, could conduct an inquiry if they thought that irregularities had taken place in construction of irrigation projects. Was family rule not there in any other State across the country? he questioned.
BJP was in power at the Centre during the last seven years and what kind of development it has done all these years, he questioned. Indirectly referring to Nizamabad MP D Aravind’s election promise of establishing turmeric board, he questioned why the turmeric board was not sanctioned to the area. Except for criticising the Chief Minister, he (Aravind) had done nothing,” he said.
When a person questioned why the government was providing Rythu Bandhu to landlords, the Minister asked the participants of the programme having more than 20 acres of land to raise their hands. As nobody raised their hands, the Minister said that BJP leaders were making false propaganda. Earlier, farmers used to face severe hardships due to lack of electricity, water and other facilities. However, farmers were provided all facilities after the formation of Telangana State, he noted.
Koppula said, “Besides supplying 24-hour power supply, adequate irrigation water is being supplied by completing irrigation projects. Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima and other facilities have also been provided. As a result, the highest quantity of paddy is being produced in the State. Unable to digest it, the Central government created hurdles by refusing to purchase rice in the Yasangi season. The Chief Minister had also staged a dharna in protest against the union government’s attitude while Ministers from the State also went to Delhi to negotiate with the Centre on the matter.”
He further added, so, it was the responsibility of the people to support the Chief Minister since the latter was fighting to protect the interests of farmers of the State. Stating that Telangana was the king in the irrigation sector, the Minister said the State would achieve wonderful growth if the TRS party led by Chandrashekhar Rao was in power for the next ten years. Speaking about the people who did not get double bedroom houses, Eshwar promised that all eligible families across the State would get houses. New pensioners, who were not getting pensions, would also be provided pension, he added.
Local MLA K Vidhyasagar Rao, ZP Chairperson Dava Vasantha and others participated in the programme.
