Hyderabad is set to get a taste of Malaysian cuisine as Chef Fitri brings a selection of his specialities to Zega at Sheraton Hyderabad Hotel on September 26 and 27.

The two-day guest chef series, titled Flavours of Malaysia, will feature dishes representing different styles and regional influences of Malaysian cuisine.

The menu at Zega will include Malaysian staples such as Nasi Lemak, Royal Rendang, Gado Gado, Laksa, Ayam Penyet and Char Kway Teow. Other dishes on the menu include Jackfruit Rendang, Udang Masak Lemak Cili Api, Ikan Bakar, Ayam Percik, Satay, Mee Udang Johor and Sambal Sotong.

Dessert options will include Pandan Sri Muka and Onde Onde, adding traditional Malaysian sweets to the spread.

Chef Fitri has 15 years of experience in the culinary industry and grew up in Kuala Lumpur, where his early exposure to food came through his family’s Nasi Lemak business. His cooking has also been influenced by recipes and techniques passed down by his mother and grandmother.

His cooking draws on fragrant herbs and spices, grilled preparations, sambals and rich sauces, with the menu bringing together dishes associated with different parts of Malaysian food culture.
