Mancherial: The ongoing membership drive of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party is evoking good response in Chennur Assembly constituency. The response has cheered the ruling party cadres, who attribute it to the outstanding schemes of the government.

As many as 50,000 persons registered as members of the TRS in Chennur segment, while Mancherial Assembly constituency recorded over 45,000 of members in the ongoing drive. Significantly, Chennur constituency saw the new membership in a week, reflecting dedication and collective efforts of leaders of the region. It is likely to get another 50,000 new memberships in the coming week.

TRS party’s general secretary Guduri Praveen, in-charge of the drive remarked that the activity was being organised as a festival. He stated that people from all sections of the society were voluntarily coming forward to enroll their names with the party, after being impressed by innovative schemes and unprecedented development.

Praveen felicitated the members with a shawl at a programme held in Chennur on Thursday night.  He opined that the credit of accomplishing the target of 50,000 memberships went to Chennur Assembly segment in Telangana in a short span of time. He was all praise for government whip and local MLA Balka Suman and in-charges of the drive for showing special interest in making the activity a grand success.

Suman attributed the overwhelming response to drive to the welfare schemes such as Rythu Bandhu, Aasara Pensions and Rythu Bima, KCR Kits, etc., No governments in the past implemented such an outstanding initiatives aiming at the welfare of all communities, while giving paramount importance to developmental programmes. The schemes and developmental activities are inspiring many to make a beeline to the party, he reasoned.

Leaders of the party said that the drive was being taken up with similar passion in seven Assembly constituencies belonging to Adilabad, Nirmal and Kumram Bheem Asifabad districts. Local legislators are aiming at achieving a target of 1 lakh membership in each segment. They are confident that they would be easily able to accomplish the goal soon.
