Mancherial: Government Whip Balka Suman said that Chennur Assembly constituency was forced to remain undeveloped owing to greed of previous rulers. He was speaking at a meeting after laying the foundation stone to various developmental works in Mandamarri on Friday. Minister Harish Rao was the chief guest of the event.

Suman asserted that the then rulers rose to billionaires, by suppressing people of this region. He said that they set up industries in other parts of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh and earned huge profits even though Chennur segment was bestowed with natural researches and has rail and road connectivity.

The government whip said that the Bharatiya Janata Party was also trying to exploit Chennur Assembly constituency and was damaging the identity of the coal belt. He stated that leaders of the party were staying tight-lipped while the Centre was auctioning coal blocks of Telangana. He opined that SCCL was a way of life and an integral part of the lives of the people.

This Chennur MLA called coal miners to protect the state-owned coal giant. He requested them to bury the BJP and to thwart its efforts to collapse the SCCL. He declared that he would not allow the union government to do so as long as he was alive. He stated that those who have self-respect quit the saffron and the Congress parties.

Suman said that Chennur segment had witnessed a remarkable growth in the past three years. He cited formation of highway from Nizamabad to Jagdalpur via Chennur, developmental works taken up in Chennur municipality at estimated cost of Rs 100 crore. He informed that agriculture fields of the constituency would be irrigated by the proposed Chennur Lift Irrigation Scheme soon.

The government further said that Dalits were set to achieve financial empowerment with the help of Dalita Bandhu scheme. He regretted that weaker sections were ignored by the then rulers. He alleged that the BJP mortgaged the interests of 120 crore persons to benefit four families. He accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of claiming lives of 700 farmers who protested anti-farmer bills.
