Chevella bus accident: Tension at crash site as locals protest during MLA’s visit

Tension prevailed at Mirjaguda in Chevella after a fatal RTC bus–truck collision killed 20 people. Locals protested during MLA K. Yadayah’s visit, blaming authorities for poor road safety. Police managed to disperse the crowd and restore order.

Hyderabad: Tension prevailed at the Mirjaguda accident site in Chevella mandal when local MLA K. Yadayah arrived to inspect the scene of the tragic RTC bus–truck collision that claimed 20 lives on Monday.

Locals and victims’ relatives expressed anger and frustration over what they called the government’s failure to improve road safety and control heavy vehicle movement in the area.

The MLA faced heated protests as people demanded immediate action against those responsible and better emergency response measures.

They raised slogans against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy too.

Police intervened to pacify the crowd and restore order. Rescue and recovery operations, led by NDRF and police teams, continued till late in the day.

Several injured passengers remain under treatment at Osmania and Chevella District Hospitals.
