Hyderabad: Contradicting the Congress government’s claims on employment generation, Chevella MLA Kale Yadaiah said local youth were not getting jobs in industries being established in the constituency. He also raised concerns over the poor condition of roads in the area.
Speaking at the inauguration of a solar module manufacturing plant on Thursday, Yadaiah said land had been acquired in Sitarampur, Chandanvelly and Machanpally villages for industrial projects. Although these industries had created employment opportunities, local youth were not being recruited.
He said jobs should be provided to local youth based on their eligibility. Pointing out that 1,200 acres had been acquired in Sitarampur for industries, Yadaiah demanded that farmers in Sitarampur and other villages who had parted with their land be allotted residential plots.
The MLA also highlighted the poor condition of roads in villages across Chevella. He urged the State government to allocate Rs.200 crore each to the three municipalities in the constituency and Rs.20 lakh to every Gram Panchayat for development works.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said companies were laying off employees due to the impact of artificial intelligence, making it difficult to secure white-collar jobs.
Keeping these challenges in view, the State government was creating infrastructure to generate blue-collar jobs, he said. He added that the government had established a Skills University and upgraded ITIs into Advanced Technology Centres.
The Chief Minister directed the Rangareddy Collector to provide housing to families that had parted with their land for industrial projects. He also said commercial complexes should be constructed to create livelihood opportunities for such families.
Revanth Reddy thanked farmers in the district for parting with their land for the solar manufacturing unit. He said a 100-metre-wide road from Budwel to Kodangal was under construction and would be completed by 2028.
“Allow us to work for some time. People gave mandate for five years and let us indulge in politics in the last six months,” Revanth Reddy said to opposition parties.
