Chidvilas Sai, Siddhartha Karthik win Brilliant Trophy chess titles

Hyderabad: Chidvilas Sai Surapaneni and Siddhartha Karthik emerged champions in the Open and Junior categories of the 240th Brilliant Trophy Chess Tournament held at Brilliant Grammar School, Dilsukhnagar, here on Sunday.
In the Junior section, Siddhartha Karthik, Khadeeja Fatima, and Vikyath Thallapally tied for first place with 7.5 points each out of nine rounds. In the tie-break, Siddhartha clinched the title, Khadeeja finished second, and Vikyath secured third place.
In the Open category, Chidvilas Sai Surapaneni won the event by scoring eight points out of nine rounds. Sri Sai Baswanth finished second with 7.5 points, while Vikramjit Singh took third place with seven points.
Mr. Kasireddy Narayan Reddy, Kalwakurthy MLA and Correspondent of Brilliant Grammar High School, the sponsor of the event for the last 20 years, gave away the prizes.
