Chief Minister KCR launches Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav
Launching the ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ (India@75) celebrations at Public Gardens here, the Chief Minister welcomed the Central government's initiative to organise the the event nationwide.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Friday said that among all the struggles and fights for freedom, the Indian Independence struggle is far more important since it set an example for others on what non-violence can achieve.
Launching the ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ (India@75) celebrations at Public Gardens here, the Chief Minister welcomed the Central government’s initiative to organise the the event nationwide. “The next generation should be made aware of the struggles and sacrifices of our freedom fighters in achieving India’s Independence,” he said.
Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav is a series of events being organised by the Union government to celebrate the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence. The Mahotsav will be celebrated as a Jan-Utsav in the spirit of Jan-Bhagidari.
The State government too is organising various programmes till August 15, 2022.
The Chief Minister has already allocated Rs.25 crore for the Amrut Mahotsav events.
A Committee headed by advisor KV Ramana Chary has been constituted to chalk out plans for various events.
The Chief Minister said Mahatma Gandhi launched the Dandi March for salt satyagraha on March 12. Hyderabad’s Sarojini Nadu too participated in the March. What began as a small gathering soon turned into national movement, he said.
The Amrut Mahotsav events was launched simultaneously in Hyderabad and Warangal. Governor Tamilsai Sounderarajan launched the event following an appeal made by the Chief Minister.
“I sincerely thank Governor Tamilsai Soundararajan for accepting our request and commencing the Amrut Mahotsav in Warangal,” said the Chief Minister.
To commemorate the day, the Chief Minister released tricolor balloons.
