Chief Minister Naidu calls to make Andhra model in waste processing
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu stressed on scaling up waste-to-energy efforts in Tirupati and Visakhapatnam

Tirupati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday directed officials to make the state a model in waste processing and utility. Naidu issued these instructions during his visit to an integrated waste processing plant at Tukivakam village in Renigunta mandal of Tirupati district.
“Make sure Andhra Pradesh emerges as a role model in processing waste across the country,” he said in an official press release. During the visit, the Chief Minister questioned officials about how the treated water would be used and instructed them to send the recycled waste to a waste-to-energy plant.
He directed officials to ensure that waste collected from within a 50 km radius of is sent to waste-to-energy plants and called for a similar mechanism to be implemented in the port city of Visakhapatnam. Additionally, he inquired about the progress in converting vegetable waste collected from homes and markets into manure.
