Hyderabad: Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju has directed officials to immediately introduce a joint pass for Metro Rail and RTC bus travel in Hyderabad.

Sanjay Jaju on Sunday held a coordination meeting with officials and travelled by Metro Rail today from Begumpet to Paradise, inspected the commercial complexes and parking areas at the stations and offered suggestions for their further development. He also inspected the elevated corridors being constructed by the HMDA on NH-44.

The Chief Secretary instructed Metro and RTC officials to make the necessary arrangements to issue monthly and daily passes in a manner that ensures convenience for the public. Officials from L&T Hyderabad Metro Rail and TGSRTC informed that they were technically prepared to issue a joint pass for Metro and RTC passengers and have finalised arrangements for its implementation at any time.

The Chief Secretary enquired about the current status of road widening works for the Old City Metro corridor and directed that the expansion works in the 7.5 km Old City corridor be expedited and that the Metro project activities commence swiftly.
