Chilkur Balaji, other temples across Hyderabad announce closure for lunar eclipse on Sept 7
Several Hyderabad temples, including Chilkur Balaji, Birla Mandir, Yadagirigutta, and TTD-administered Venkateswara temples, will remain closed during the lunar eclipse from Sunday evening, September 7, until Monday morning, September 8. Temples will reopen after completing Abhishekams and other rituals

Hyderabad: Multiple temples across the city will remain closed during the lunar eclipse scheduled between Sunday night and the early hours of Monday.
The Chilkur Balaji temple announced on Friday that it would be closed from 4 pm on Sunday, September 7, due to the eclipse. “The temple will reopen for devotees at 8 am on Monday, September 8, after completion of the Abhishekams,” the temple said in an official release.
All Sri Venkateswara temples in Hyderabad administered by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) are also expected to follow the official notification. The famed Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Yadagirigutta and Birla Mandir are likewise expected to shut down and reopen after the eclipse.
